On my brother's request, here's another wall hanging with hungarian folk tale motifs: leaves, stylized flowers and the singing bird. The base is 25x30 cm large.

Ismét egy magyar népmesei motívumos tablóval állok elétek, a dalos madárka és a futólevelek meg a stilizált virágok nagyon jól néznek ki a fehér háttéren. Ez a tabló 25x30 cm-es.
Kisöcsémnek rengeteg szeretettel :)

quilling portré / quilled portrait

Valaki megkérdezte, készítek-e portrét quilling tehnikával. Még nem készítettem mostanig, de gondoltam, próba szerencse... úgyhogy ez az első ilyen fajta próbálkozásom :) A portré maga A4-es méretű. Mit szóltok, hasonlít? :)

Someone asked me if I do quilled portraits. Well, I haven't done any before, but I thought I could give it a try. So here it is, my first quilled portrait, the quilled part is size A4. Sooo, what do you think, is there any resemblance to the original picture? :)

Egy újabb virágos tablót készítettem, esküvői ajándék lesz. Kék-lila-zöld-barna színeket kértek, de addig tettem-vettem a virágokat, amíg egy kis rózsaszín is vegyült bele :) Hát, nekem így is tetszik :) Remélem az ifjú párnak is fog, és ezúttal sok boldogságot kívánok nekik!

I made another framed quilling, this one will be a wedding gift. I was asked to use light blue, purple, green and brown, but somehow I slipped some pink flowers too in the picture... :) I hope they don't mind, because I personally like it this way :) 

My source of inspiration for the pink flowers was this video tutorial, only I used scissors instead of a punch to cut the flower shapes out.

Esküvői ajándéknak készült ez a személyreszabott tabló, sok-sok olyan részlettel, amit csak az érintettek értenek meg :) Ami felismerhetőbb, az a sólyom, a Wizzair repülőgép, és a háromszögben levő Claddagh-gyűrű (ez utóbbi ír hagyomány szerint a házasság egy alapszimbóluma; a szeretet, barátság és hűség jelképe).

Another custom made wall picture, this time for a wedding, filled with personalized elements that is grasped only by the people concerned. Some more general items would be the hawk, the Wizzair airplane and the Claddagh ring, which is a symbol of marriage in the Irish tradition. The elements of this symbol are often said to correspond to the qualities of love (the heart), friendship (the hands), and loyalty (the crown).

Andinak házassági évfordulója alkalmával a narancs-barna-krémszínű szobájába kellett egy találó virágmotívumos valamit alkossak (ajándék a húgától). Így születtek ezek a gerberát utánzó kis virágok, első próbálkozásnak elég jól sikerültek :) Az alap minta elkészítését itt láttam, nagyon megtetszett. Kissé körülményes művelet, ha nincs mintavágóm, de kézzel is meg lehet oldani.
A tabló mérete 15x21 cm plusz a keret, ami papírból készült, az átlátszó lakk adja a csillogást.

I wanted to make some gerbera daisies, and since I don't have punches I had to find out how to make the flowers manually. I watched this video and tried it, and here they are... not perfect, but close :) Next time I'll make bigger ones, it will be easier.
The size of the wall picture is 15x21 cm plus the frame, whick is made of paper and lacquered to give it some shine.

Egy újabb tabló narancs-krém-barna kombinációban, meg gy kis zöld is hogy "hűtse" a meleg színeket :) A tavasz hangulatát szerettem volna visszaadni ebben az alkotásban: egy virágzó fa a naplementében. Kicsit romantikázom :) Ez a keret is papírból készült és lakkozva van, a kép mérete keretestől 19x25 cm.

Inspired by the spring spirit I created this framed quilling thinking of a blooming tree in the sunset. I'm a bit of a romantic :) I like the combination of orange-ivory-brown, but had to cool the warm colours with a little bit of green. This frame is also made of paper and lacquered for effect. The size of the picture is 19x25 cm including the frame.

Some fringed flowers and leaves in a quilled vase surrounded by a dark brown paper frame. Some people hate the white background, but I actually like it, it ensures great contrast in the picture. The picture size is 15x21 cm, 21x27 cm with the frame.

Egy nagy és szép projekten dolgoztam már egy ideje, párhuzamosan más munkával, és nemrég készültem el vele. Kedves barátnőmnek, Mónikának volt az esküvője április 28-án, erre az alkalomra kellett a magyar népmese motívumos óriástabló, mérete 73x100 cm.

I've been working on a big and beautiful quilling project for a while, for my dear friend, Mónika. I completed it recently, before her wedding on the 28th of april. The floral motifs are from the cartoons based on hungarian folk tales, in the middle there's the prince and the princess kissing and promising to live happily ever after. The text says "you are mine and I am yours".

The quilled pieces are glued to a 73x100 cm large piece of medium-density fibreboard.

the beginning: a huge picture and many paper strips :)

A nagy képet felosztottam sok kicsire, hogy a4-es lapokon könnyebben tudjak dolgozni velük. A királyfi készült el először.

I divided the big picture into smaller ones, it was easier for me to work with A4-sized pieces of paper. The prince was the first to reach completion:

 S mikor megvolt minden lap, összerakosgattam őket egy óriás mdf-lemezen.

When I completed all the small pieces, I put them together on the large mdf.

After I cut the small quilled pieces out with a cutter, this model remained:

 Aztán a sablont a megfelelő helyre illesztve felragasztottam a kis darabkákat a préseltlemezre

Then I put the pattern to the right place and glued the previously cut little pieces in the holes. This way I avoided misplacing any piece on puzzle.

Ildinek az ötleteit megvalósítani mindig kihívás :) Ezen a tablón a maroskeresztúri katolikus templom belsejének néhány részletét próbáltam megörökíteni. Volt egy kis munka vele, de remélem felismerhető :)

I tried to capture some details of the inside of a catholic church into paper. It's not exactly like a painting, and quilling the smallest details is not quite possible on this scale (the piece of mdf is 30x35 cm), but I think it's recognizable :)
