On my brother's request, here's another wall hanging with hungarian folk tale motifs: leaves, stylized flowers and the singing bird. The base is 25x30 cm large.

I seem to come back to this hungarian folk tale motif very often. It's never boring and there are infinite ways to vary it. I'd be curious to see how the frame looks like with a picture inside :)

magyar népmesék képkeret / quilled photo frame

Úgy néz ki ez a képkeretek időszaka :) Ezúttal egy magyaros témájú keretet készítettem, a magyar népmesék dalos madárkájával. 10x15 cm-es fénykép jár bele. Sajnos a képek minősége nem lett a legjobb, ez a hátránya az esti fényképezésnek :(
A fénykép ami a keretben van lecserélhető, csak a fotózás kedvéért tettem bele.

It seems like this is a period for photo frames :) This time I decorated the frame with the Hungarian folk tales design and the singing bird. Unfortunately the quality of the photos is pretty bad, they were shot at night... I can't argue, sunshine is the best :)
The picture inside the frame can be replaced, I put it there only to try it out, and for the sake of the little "photoshoot"  :)

Egy nagy és szép projekten dolgoztam már egy ideje, párhuzamosan más munkával, és nemrég készültem el vele. Kedves barátnőmnek, Mónikának volt az esküvője április 28-án, erre az alkalomra kellett a magyar népmese motívumos óriástabló, mérete 73x100 cm.

I've been working on a big and beautiful quilling project for a while, for my dear friend, Mónika. I completed it recently, before her wedding on the 28th of april. The floral motifs are from the cartoons based on hungarian folk tales, in the middle there's the prince and the princess kissing and promising to live happily ever after. The text says "you are mine and I am yours".

The quilled pieces are glued to a 73x100 cm large piece of medium-density fibreboard.

the beginning: a huge picture and many paper strips :)

A nagy képet felosztottam sok kicsire, hogy a4-es lapokon könnyebben tudjak dolgozni velük. A királyfi készült el először.

I divided the big picture into smaller ones, it was easier for me to work with A4-sized pieces of paper. The prince was the first to reach completion:

 S mikor megvolt minden lap, összerakosgattam őket egy óriás mdf-lemezen.

When I completed all the small pieces, I put them together on the large mdf.

 Az apró darabokat szikével körbevágtam, ilyen sablonok maradtak:

After I cut the small quilled pieces out with a cutter, this model remained:

 Aztán a sablont a megfelelő helyre illesztve felragasztottam a kis darabkákat a préseltlemezre

Then I put the pattern to the right place and glued the previously cut little pieces in the holes. This way I avoided misplacing any piece on puzzle.

táncospár székelyruhában / quilled dancing couple

Here's a picture with a dancing couple in traditional szekler (szekely) outfits, with a leafy border that imitates the Hungarian folk tales main motifs. I created the card to a special lady who appreciates folk-dancing.

Repül a szoknya, kopognak a csizmák a székelyruhás táncospárnál. S emellé nagyon jól talál a magyar népmesék motívuma, amit igyekeztem minél jobban megközelíteni.
