quilling lámpaernyő / quilled lampshade

Munkám másik érdekessége az, hogy klienseim maguk jönnek ötletekkel, kérdésekkel. Egy néninek kedvenc lámpájához kellett egy lámpaernyő, kérdezte, tudok-e olyasmit készíteni. Hááát, nem tudtam, hogy tudok, amíg el nem készült :) És a néninek is nagyon tetszett, le is puszilt érte. És én... szégyellem, de még a nevét sem kérdeztem meg :(

Nem baj, legközelebb; mert biztos vagyok benne, hogy vissza fog jönni valami érdekességet vásárolni, talán az unokájának, rokonainak, barátainak, magának...

Mindenképpen nagy megelégedéssel töltött el megfigyelni az arcán a mosolyt, az örömöt alkotásom láttán.

I took up another challenge these days... A lady said her old lampshade was torn and asked me whether I could make her a new one from paper and decorate it the way I wanted. I said I didn't know if I could until I try. And here it is, I'm quite proud of it :) And the greatest satisfaction was that the lady liked it a lot :)

quilling üdvözlet / quilled greeting card

Tünde különleges üdvözletet rendelt Betty barátnőjének, s meghagyta, használjam a kedvenc színeit. Egy kis quilling madárkát is odabiggyesztettem, szerintem aranyos, nem? :) Azonkívül egy első ránézésre láthatatlan meglepetéssel is készültem: Betty nevét foszforeszkáló festékkel mázoltam be, hadd világítson a sötétben. Amint később megtudtam, nagyon tetszett neki az üdvözlet :)

Tünde ordered a special card for her dear friend, Betty, which should contain Betty's favourite colours: ivory, brown, orange, and should emphasize the text: "to my dear friend, Betty".
I used a quilled birdie because I thought it was cute :) and left an invisible surprise on the card for Betty: I painted her name with an invisible luminescent paint that would glow in the dark.
As I later found out, she loved the card! :)

The sweetest, dearest mother on Earth (mine :) ) had her 54th birthday this year. I wanted to give her something that would last more than a bouquet of freshly cut flowers, so I made her a bouquet of paper ones :) An experienced eye can see that I was only experimenting, because they're not perfect, the daffodil was quite a challenge for me... yet she found them beautiful. Probably because of all the love I put in them :)

I saw hundreds of amazing pieces of miniature 3d quilling over the internet and decided to give it a try. Since I love roses and they are relatively easy to make, I fabricated a mini-rose in a pot. The whole thing is barely bigger than a flask of nail polish.

I guess I could've chosen a more vivid colour for the rose...

This card is a step forward from my last one, where I used 5 mm wide paper strips. Someone suggested I should use narrower strips, because it would look much better, and would even fit in an envelope :)

Well, she was right, it does look much better. Although I still have to work on my quilled letters... :D

And this time I used liquid glue for everything I had to glue to the card :)

The little birdie's singing "happy birthday" in Hungarian.
